ALFONSO VELÁZQUEZ
With over 20 albums recorded and over 6 decades in music, Alfonso is a veteran musician and producer. As an original member of Trio Los Valentinos, started by Gilberto Saucillo, formally with Los Duendes and Los Panchos, he met Alfonso in 1969 and, along with Nacho Castro, started the Trio Los Valentinos. Until his untimely death, Saucillo served as the groups’ leader with Alfonso Velázquez moving into the leadership role shortly thereafter.
Sharing the stage with acts like Vicente Fernandez and Los Monarcas and opening for salsa legend Eddie Palmieri, Alfonso has entertained audiences internationally.
As an early graduate of the esteemed Recording Workshop in Chillecothe, OH. Alfonso went on to record, musical direct, and produce records for artists like Dick Jensen, Charo, Claudia Vasquez (of SUNLAND) and other artists from Japan like the successfully popular boy group Shonentai. Alfonso eventually went on to create 3 record companies. ILIMA Records, CASVEL Records and finally AC Records.
Becoming one of the earliest Latin radio disc jockeys in Hawaii with KNDI Radio, Alfonso was a fixture within the Hispanic community and perpetuated the Latin culture in the island paradise before moving to California where he created the popular radio show Conexion Musical on KOXR Radio becoming one of the top programs in the state.
Alfonso never stopped performing and continues to entertain audiences playing many genres of music in both spanish as well as in english. As an accomplished guitarist and Requinto player and vocalist, he is now based in Nashville, Tennessee.
